The Biomass Energy Industry Promotion Association (BEIPA) was established in June 2018. It was jointly founded by the China Association for the Promotion of Industrial Development(CAPID) and key enterprises in the biomass energy sector. The association aims to fully implement the guiding principles of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and follows the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. It promotes the "Four Revolutions and One Cooperation" new energy security strategy—revolutionizing energy consumption, supply, technology, and institutional frameworks, alongside international cooperation—proposed by President Xi Jinping. BEIPA also advances rural revitalization and ecological civilization.

The Biomass Energy Industry Promotion Association (BEIPA) is an affiliate of the CAPID. It is a non-profit organization voluntarily formed by enterprises and institutions from various sectors of the bioenergy industry, encompassing investment and construction, equipment manufacturing, design and engineering, green finance, research and development, academia, and policy consulting. BEIPA's scope of activities spans all areas of the bioenergy industry, including waste-to-energy, biomass CHP, biomass heating, bio-methane (biogas), pyrolysis and gasification, biofuels, and biomass. Currently, BEIPA has over 140 member enterprises, of which 37% are state-owned enterprises, and 23% are publicly listed companies.

Since its establishment, BEIPA has consistently adhered to implementing the decisions and plans of the Party Central Committee. Under the guidance of the Central Social Work Department, the National Development and Reform Commission, and other relevant authorities, BEIPA has closely aligned with the purposes of the CAPID. It actively promotes the development of bioenergy, organizes industry advocacy, strengthens the exchange of information domestically and internationally, and provides strategy, planning, and decision-making advisory services to relevant authorities and bioenergy industry.

To date, BEIPA has formed a think tank of nearly 500 experts, comprising specialists, scholars, and senior executives from various fields of the bioenergy, providing strong technical support to both relevant authorities and member enterprises. Today, BEIPA stands as one of the largest, most authoritative, and most influential organizations in the bioenergy industry in China.

BEIPA will operate with a firm commitment to maintaining political integrity and strengthening its sense of service to member enterprises. It will fully leverage its role as a bridge connecting competent authorities with industry stakeholders. BEIPA will assist government departments in managing the bio-energy sector, articulate industry and enterprise concerns, and safeguard the legitimate rights of its members.​​​​​​​

BEIPA will actively engage in discussions and offer strategic insights to drive an all-round green transition in China's economic and social development. BEIPA will contribute to promoting the high-quality development of the bioenergy industry.
